Lonzo Ball underwent surgery for a torn meniscus and is expected to be out until 2023. This is his second surgery in a short period of time and raises concerns about his long-term health. The Chicago Bulls signed Goran Dragic to add depth to their backcourt.
Last season, Ball had the best stats of his career, averaging 13.0 points, 5.4 rebounds, 5.1 assists, 3.1 threes, and 2.7 combined steals-plus-blocks per game. He played 35 games before his injury.
In his first year with the Pelicans, Ball played a career-high 63 games and averaged 11.8 points, 7.0 assists, 6.1 rebounds, and 1.4 steals. He showed improvement in his shooting, particularly from three-point range.
